Like the neighboring city of Albufeira, Alvor has benefited greatly from the increase in tourism since the mid 1900’s. While Alvor is traditionally a fishing village, the increase in tourism and tourism related businesses has not detracted from that tradition and the bounty of the sea is still celebrated in a plethora of restaurants, markets and vessels bobbing in the water. Alvor is an attractive alternative to the other over populated cities and towns in the Algarve, and many people are looking to Alvor as the ideal place to purchase property.

Location
Alvor is in the district of Faro in the Algarve region. Located between Lagos and Portimгo, it rests on a quiet lagoon on Portugal’s southern coast.
